Roscoe Methodist Confirmation is our 6th through 8th grade Sunday School program. It is a three-year commitment beginning in 6th grade, culminating in readiness to join Roscoe Methodist as a member at the end of 8th grade. Our main focus is to teach youth that Jesus loves them and wants a relationship with them. Our goal is to create relationships which nurture growth in their faith and let our youth know they are loved and wanted here in the Roscoe Methodist Family.
Our class schedule is a rotational model. The first Sunday of the month is Worship Together Sunday, with confirmation students attending the 10 a.m. worship service together as a group. The second Sunday of each month students meet in their classroom at 10 a.m. for lessons with their class teachers. The confirmation students are encouraged to attend SYNC youth group when it meets to enhance the lessons being taught each month.
During the winter months we attend a retreat together, this is not mandatory but an option to enhance their confirmation experience.
With this model our Confirmation students build lasting relationships with each other, the Holy Bible and Christ.
Students entering 6th grade who wish to begin the confirmation program should register at roscoeumc.org/confirmation. 7th and 8th grade students who have not been in Roscoe Methodist Confirmation previously should also register.
